The Belt and Road Initiative aims at creating an open, inclusive, balanced and general regional economic cooperation framework. As a major field, the orientation of international energy cooperation is transforming from traditional fossil energy to green and low-carbon energy. This undoubtedly placed the new energy industry in the core of the "Green Silk Road" construction. Meanwhile, the serious traffic congestion and environmental pollution in the B&R countries result in severely restricted problems in the urban development, which accelerated the development process of the urban new energy public transport industry. As a leader in the industry, BYD, a company committed to promoting the Green City Solution that mainly focuses on the electric bus and SkyRail, has strong technical advantages and rich overseas experience. At the beginning of internationalization, BYD gave priority to export and has gradually formed a transnational business mode of strategic cooperation, joint venture, sole proprietorship, PPP, etc. BYD located its electric bus plants in America and Brazil initially, and then speeded up its pace of investment in the Belt and Road since the initiative was put forward. It had invested 8 projects in 7 Partner Countries by the end of 2017. The report compares and analyzes three cases of BYD including establishing a joint venture plant for electric buses with GIL in India, establishing a solely-invested plant for electric buses in Hungary and settling SkyRail PPP project in Egypt. It also concludes its target market selection and high or low control market entry mode, and comes up with the problems and potential risks in technology, internalization, finance and country level that are faced in the investment process. Under the opportunity of the Belt and Road Initiative, domestic companies could learn from BYD's case experience, effectively choose international business mode and avoid potential risks. In order to analyze BYD's global layout in the future, the report, at the end, establishes a three-dimensional feasibility analysis model from three levels of external environment, corporate advantages, and project conditions. It afterwards uses Delphi method to score specific indicators, and provides feasibility theory support for BYD's further development in the Belt and Road. Meanwhile, based on the Boston matrix analysis method, the report establishes an investment development matrix map of BYD's investment development along B&R countries to provide practical strategic advice for its new energy "Going Global". This report not only makes a reasonable analysis of the implementation process of BYD's "Green Dream" and the optimized layout of areas along the Belt and Road, but also provides important reference value for domestic companies in the same industry to respond to the "Green Silk Road".
